Late to work multiple times to get your nails done, fine have fun opening coins with those nails

I (25F) am the closing manager at the store I work at. Shy Coworker (F21)(SC) without fail is always late to work on payday Fridays by three hours or more because she's getting her nails or hair done. She gets those super long fake acrylics done. She's just a cashier so it's not like she's moving boxes and stacking shelves.

One of my closing duties is to count the registers out to make sure they equal $200. If I notice the till is getting low on dimes, quarters, ect I will open the rolls up and refill the tills coins. If you have ever worked with rolls of coins you know how much they suck to open, I've noticed with her especially she struggles to open them because of said nails.

Here is my petty revenge. I don't refill her tills coins. We even have two types of coin rolls, one that you have to crack open in the middle and peal the paper away to get to the coins, or one where you just open one side and dump them. Guess which ones I make sure she has every time. Its not much, but it helps keep me sane during the work day.

_gadget_girl. 7 hr. ago 3 hours late and they don't fire her? 270 Reply Share spookyoeve OP. 7 hr. ago The owner has a thing about not firing people, it's ridiculous she just cuts your hours until you quit. (Yet she doesn't cut this coworkers hours because all the good employees are quitting I wonder why)

Coygon - 4 hr. ago In the owner's eyes, firing people means she's a villain, cutting hours is just a scheduling change. And she doesn't want to be a villain. She probably doesn't discipline her children, either, because then "they might not like me."

CelticGaelic · 1 hr. ago I had a manager like this. I got irritated one day and said "You know, a manager who's too soft is just as bad as one that takes advantage of their employees, because you're letting bad employees take advantage of all the rest of us." I knew I wasn't going to get in any trouble for saying that, the guy wouldn't even fire someone for stealing.

6ft6squatch .5 hr. ago Tell manager to schedule her when she usually shows up then. Not when they need her. Then hire someone part time to pick up her slack untill they switch places 62 Reply Share spookyoeve OP. 5 hr. ago We are constantly looking for more people, it's all up to the owner in the end, the other manager hates her more then I do.

irl_potate 4 hr. ago Honestly for an hourly wages employee you think she doesn't know to split the roll in half? giirrrlll she taking her sweet as time opening them rolls you bet! If she doesn't get fired for coming in 3 hours late like that i guarantee she's milking the clock doing small stuff like that and taking her sweet as time lol!
  • 13
spookyoeve OP. 4 hr. ago I thought of that, but I've seen her get actually pd at the rolls, she genuinely doesn't know how to open them with her nails. (She trys to milk the clock in other ways but since every employee hates her at this point she doesn't get away with it)

irl_potate 4 hr. ago D n. Still really sad though that you feel like you gotta do stuff purposely to treat someone like sl c. It shouldn't be falling on you like that. I get the frustration for sure. Has anyone told her anything like.... "Hey don't do this?" Then again, I guess it does fall on the owner... I hope you guys can resolve it for real though. Working is already a hellach. I couldn't imagine having the constant beef between someone else when you gotta work together for hours.

Catnippjs1234 - 6 hr. ago Ya, why is her highness still an employee?? If she does this every payday, it's a habit and should be dealt with harshly! 33 Reply Share spookyoeve OP. 6 hr. ago Owner sucks a s about that and she is a good cashier when she's here.

indykym 3 hr. ago Why has she not been fired for being three hours late? Or is it that she consistently asks, and gets, her preferred schedule? If so, your pettiness is not justified. You just come off as jealous. 8 Reply Share AlGunner 2 hr. ago This, she should be sacked and the job given to someone who wont abuse it.

GreenUpYourLife · 5 hr. ago Idk why you peel the paper away? You just crack it in half and shove the quarters out the tube from one side? I'm so confused why so many people be struggling with coin sleeves

SPOON SURVIVOR Blondelefty 4 hr. ago I think I may work with her relative. I tend to count down the drawer to know she has to break it all again in the morning with her stupid a s nails. I also leave random boxes to be broken down, since she can't figure out a box cutter with her tacky as nails. It's fun for me.

Expert-Angle-8214 · 1 hr. ago if she is late every pay day why is she still employed there. she should have been slack as getting your nails done isn't an excuse for being late even if she was getting them done she should wait till she is off for that
